Exam Invigilator

Hourly rate: £12.21 per hour

Required: April 2026

Glenthorne High School is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our friendly team of exam invigilators. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the academic journey of our students and make a positive impact on their educational experience.

This post will be on a casual basis over the summer exam period, with opportunities to return for exams in the Autumn and 2027.

Ideal candidates will be:

  • Punctual, reliable, and highly organised.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and manage stressful situations effectively
  • Able to maintain constant vigilance and attention to detail throughout examination sessions.
  • Attentive to the needs of candidates in an exam setting.
  • Knowledgeable about examination procedures, or willing to learn through our comprehensive induction training.

About Glenthorne High School

Set in the London Borough of Sutton, the school converted to Academy status in 2011 and with its two sister schools, Abbey Primary and Aragon Primary, forms the Willow Learning Trust. Glenthorne High School is a comprehensive school with 1700 pupils on roll, from 11 to 19 years of age, and prides itself on a diverse, inclusive and supportive community.  Past Glenthorne pupils have been highly successful in securing Higher Education at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities and prestigious employment and apprenticeships.

Glenthorne is also the lead school for the Sutton Teaching Alliance and the Sutton SCITT, an outstanding provider of Primary and Secondary Initial Teacher Training.

The school is a centre of excellence in the arts and offers selected places to pupils who demonstrate both talent and aptitude in the arts. 

In addition, the school has an ASD Base with 26 pupils.  This department is well resourced, and pupils are integrated into the life of the school.
