Teaching Assistant
Responsible to: SENCo
Salary: Scale 1c/3 (2-6) (Pro-rata: £20 635 – £21 900)
Hours: 33 hrs per week Monday to Friday, Term Time plus Inset days
Inclusive of: SEND Homework Club until 4.15am once a week and 1.5 hours a week for meetings.
Candidates must be able to start work from 8.15am.
Required from: as soon as possible
We are looking to appoint a professional and thoughtful Teaching Assistant to join our well-established SEND Department. The successful candidate will provide support for our SEND pupils. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience of working with pupils who have a diagnosis of ASD, PDA or ODD. You will assist these pupils in lessons and, were required, assist with moving around the school. Teaching Assistants are highly valued at the school in supporting our pupils to realise their full potential.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate effective, clear communication with pupils and adults alike, excellent literacy and organisational skills, the ability to enthuse and motivate pupils at all levels and a drive to improve future opportunities available to our pupils. This role would suit a graduate who wishes to gain in-school experience prior to undertaking teacher training as well as those who would like to pursue a career as a Teaching Assistant.

Peripatetic Violin Tutor
Are you a passionate Violinist with a knack for teaching? We are looking for a dedicated Violin Tutor to teach and enthuse performers of all ages and abilities. You must have experience of working with young people and be passionate about your instrument. We are flexible about the repertoire pupils can learn and we would like you to go with their interests. As a peripatetic violin teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire students of all ages and skill levels. With flexible scheduling and competitive compensation, this role offers the perfect balance of flexibility and fulfilment.
Lessons are for 30 minutes, and the parents will pay you £18 per lesson. Each term has 10 lessons. Lessons are paid in advance for the term and pupils have their lessons on a carousel basis. Some pupils receive funding for their lessons, and you will invoice the school for this at the end of the term. We have an Arts Administrator who will organise your timetable for you on a program called SOCS and you will be given parents contact details to be able to communicate with them directly.

Second in Charge Drama (Mat Cover)

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and creative Second in Charge Drama to join our experienced Drama team. Our school is a centre of excellence in the arts and offers selected places to pupils who demonstrate both talent and aptitude in the arts. We are fortunate to have excellent facilities including three drama studios and a brand-new Performing Arts Centre, where we deliver all our lessons and regular stage productions. Science Teacher
Main Teacher Pay Scale (Outer London)

Glenthorne High School is a vibrant community where staff are appreciated and supported in their work, the school is looking to recruit a Teacher of Science, who demonstrates a passion for their subject and a commitment to raising standards for all learners. We have excellent teaching facilities with dedicated Science labs and prep rooms, the department fully embrace new technologies to support teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4, across the age and ability range. They will be fully supported by the department team and benefit from our excellent CPD programme.
While the ability to teach Physics at KS5 is preferred, it is not essential. The post is open to ECTs and more experienced teachers.

About Glenthorne High School
Set in the London Borough of Sutton, the school converted to Academy status in 2011 and with its two sister schools, Abbey Primary and Aragon Primary, forms the Willow Learning Trust. Glenthorne High School is a comprehensive school with 1700 pupils on roll, from 11 to 19 years of age, and prides itself on a diverse, inclusive and supportive community.
