Teacher of Maths

Salary: Outer London Pay Scales

Glenthorne is a vibrant and diverse environment where staff are supported to improve student outcomes in all subjects.  We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Maths to join our team, the school can consider part time hours if required.

The Maths Department is well-established, has attained excellent pupil results which are achieved through the hard work and dedication of the Maths team. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence and willingness to help embrace our mantra of achievement for all. 

The successful candidate will plan and deliver high quality lessons and instil in our pupils a love for Maths and a desire to learn.  Teaching will be across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities available for teaching at KS5.

Part-time working can be considered for the successful candidate.

Teacher of Science

Main Teacher Pay Scale (Outer London)

Required:  September 2024

The school is a vibrant community where staff are appreciated and supported in their work, the school is looking to recruit a Teacher of Science, who demonstrates a passion for their subject and a commitment to raising standards for all learners. We have excellent teaching facilities with dedicated Science labs and prep rooms, the department fully embrace new technologies to support teaching and learning. 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4, across the age and ability range. They will be fully supported by the department team and benefit from our excellent CPD programme.

Ideally candidate should be able to teach Physics at KS5 however this is not essential. The post is open to ECTs and more experienced teachers.

About Glenthorne High School

Set in the London Borough of Sutton, the school converted to Academy status in 2011 and with its two sister schools, Abbey Primary and Aragon Primary, forms the Willow Learning Trust. Glenthorne High School is a comprehensive school with 1700 pupils on roll, from 11 to 19 years of age, and prides itself on a diverse, inclusive and supportive community.  Past Glenthorne pupils have been highly successful in securing Higher Education at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities and prestigious employment and apprenticeships.

Glenthorne is also the lead school for the Sutton Teaching Alliance and the Sutton SCITT, an outstanding provider of Primary and Secondary Initial Teacher Training.

The school is a centre of excellence in the arts and offers selected places to pupils who demonstrate both talent and aptitude in the arts. 

In addition, the school has an ASD Base with 26 pupils.  This department is well resourced, and pupils are integrated into the life of the school.
