Curriculum Aims:
Product Design
- To teach pupils to develop strong practical skills and technical ability through continued practice, enabling every pupil to achieve successful results
- To create an inclusive and positive learning environment where all pupils can truly engage with their design projects and have the confidence to develop a range of ideas.
- To ensure thorough delivery of theoretical knowledge within each key stage, providing pupils with solid understanding of this part of the course.
- To provide pupils with an excellent understanding of the work of designers and how it can influence them.
- To enable pupils to develop an excellent understanding of responsible design so that they can make informed choices as designers or consumers.
Textiles
- To teach pupils to develop strong practical skills and technical ability through continued practice, enabling every pupil to achieve successful outcomes.
- To create an inclusive and positive learning environment where all pupils can truly engage with Textiles, feel connected to their work and feel confident in their own ideas.
- To instill in pupils that all mistakes are part of the creative learning process and that practice is what will enable them to succeed.
- To provide pupils with an excellent understanding of the work of textiles artists and designers in a way that enables them to be influenced in their own work.
